The park opened under the name Rock-A-Hoola on July 4, 1998 but filed for bankruptcy in Feb 2000. The park was sold and reopened as Discovery Waterpark in May 2002. In 2002 and 2003 the park was only opened on weekends. The park eventually closed in the Summer of 2004.
Since then parts have been sold off. The large attractions no longer stand. Vandals have tagged with graffitti and have destroyed walls.
Myself and a few other decided to go out and take some photos of this once beautiful park. Here is an old commercial of what the park once was:
It was sad to see a part of west coast history in such shambles. The ceilings were caving in, broken glass everywhere. Old desks and chairs are still in some of the offices (not to mention old papers like applications for employment that were on the floor that had been filled out many years before).
Below aresome of the photos I took, however you can see them all here: http://dawncall.zenfolio.com/p130428032
Again to see all of the photos of the decay of the park: http://dawncall.zenfolio.com/p130428032
