Photo Prices...

I have heard a few people mention how high some photography prices are (not mine, lol but in general).  So I wanted to take a moment to mention a few things that some people dont tink of that I have learned along the way while earning my certificate & now my degree....

How many hours does the photographer spend with you..... (think of an hourly wage)
Equipment being used......  (Photography equipment is expensive)
amount of time post editing each picture (switching from RAW to jpgs, etc)  (100 pics = an hour or 2)
Special custom edits... ( depending on what type of edit can be 30 minutes to 5 or more hours)
If the photographer has to drive somewhere to meet you... (gas/vehicle wear)
If its a special place u need permits for to even have your photos done in that location or entry fee...
if you ar getting a package instead of a CD... the prints cost, etc

Weddings... & Reception.....  Backup equipment, getting those in the moment have to get shots, assistants. etc    How new or experienced your photographer may be can also be a factor.

The only cost I agree that is typically too high... PreSchool photos if its being done at 1 location, same backdrops for all the kids, no editing out booboos etc... why is it $20 a sheet??

On a side note..............
Ive actually met a few people that have Photography business cards or call themselves photographers who have only been shooting a few months & no official training or internships. So make sure when you book something you are being paid for to not only see their work but to see either how long they have been doing photography or if they have any degrees or certificates in photography.
